What is a Healthy Pregnancy?

GROUP ASSIGNMENT:

 

During this assignment, you will be in groups of 2-3.  Your task is to research one of the following topics related to pregnancy:

  • Signs and Symptoms of pregnancy
  • Changes that occur during the three trimesters (physical, mental, emotional)
  • Medical Care needed during pregnancy for mother and unborn baby
  • Possible Complications, warning signs, what to do, etc.
  • Personal Care for mother and unborn baby
  • Budgeting for Baby - how can parents budget, why is it important, what happens if you do/do not budget
  • Nutrition - benefits of good nutrition for mom and baby, things to avoid, things to include and why
  • Exercises - benefits, risks, and recommendations during pregnancy
  • Father's Responsibilities - ways the father can be an active participant, why this is important
  • Childbirth Choices - pros and cons, ways to make a decision

Your group will create a PowerPoint presentation with the information you have learned and present to the class.

 

The following are guidelines for your research and project:

  • PowerPoint must be a minimum of 10 slides
  • Presentation should be easy to read
  • You should NOT read the slides, the presentation should serve as a guide and you are the expert.  Present additional information.
  • Include graphics as appropriate.
  • Complete thorough research about your topic.
  • Be able to answer questions about your topic.

INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT: Students will write a paragraph summarizing each presentation.
